wondering if this is safe during breastfeeding…?

okay, so I weighed about 135 before I got pregnant… and gained well over the "average 20-25 pounds" during pregnancy…. and ended up at almost 190 in the day I delivered my daughter… I’m now stuck at about 165…. which isn’t horrible… but I’m not too confident or comfortable with myself…
Anyway, I read on this website… ( http://annasdietingblog.com/ )
about this diet using two products… Acai Berry Power 500 and Colon Cleanse xR…
This combination seemed to work for this lady who tried it, but I was wondering if it would be safe or have any effects on my child since I’m breastfeeding…

Just curious…
any help, advice, etc…

Thanks! =)

I don’t know about those products when breastfeeding as I’m generally wary of weight loss products in general, but if you are open to suggestions, I can tell you that Weight Watchers has a nursing Mothers program that is safe and nutritious for breastfeeding, I lost 20lbs on it when breastfeeding.

Begin now. Don’t diet change your life style. Exercise more and eat better. It will help you raise a healthier kid too. Breastfeeding burns so many calories so just add that with exercise and nutritious eating and you should loose weight and remain healthy all while not harming your baby.

    I wouldn’t personally do it.

**You should consult your doctor first if you decide to try it.** Everything you eat goes to the baby and you can affect your milk supply by dieting improperly. You’ll have to weigh the risks vs the benefits.

Personally I feel that you can lose the weight at anytime but you’re only going to be breastfeeding your baby for so long. You only get one shot at your baby’s nutrition while you’re breastfeeding. You’ll have plenty of time to lose the extra pounds after you stop breastfeeding.

The ONLY thing that works is burning more calories than you consume. Everything else is a scam.

    Nope, nope nope.

Don’t take any extra cleansing stuff while you’re breast feeding. The best way to lose post-baby pounds by far is breastfeeding. Every day you use an extra 500 calories just feeding the baby. So if you go back to how you ate pre-baby, your body will tap into your fat stores to feed baby. It’s that easy.

I wouldn’t chance it while breastfeeding…You won’t breastfeed forever and after you are done you can really worry about losing all the weight…My baby is almost a year old now and I am finally losing those last few pounds…I gained 85lbs with my last baby…

Ask your doctor first, but I don’t know that I would trust it for myself now, let alone when I was breastfeeding.

Interesting!! Im useing the "mona vie" acai berry drink. I only take 2 ounces of it a day. My doctor told me it was fine, and great to do! There is 2 different kinds of mona vie though… an active on and a non-active one. I have to use the non-active one while im nursing.

NO. THIS IS A SCAM set up by the company. They are not FDA approved and could potentially harm your baby. You shouldn’t take these things even if you aren’t breastfeeding. If you want to drop the weight, diet and exercise. There is no other safe way to do it. No miracle drug. No Short cuts. They lie on those sites. They just want you money. Cut your caloric intake and exercise.
