What vitamins or supplements do you take and what would you recommend?

What are some good vitamins and supplements to take? We take a few but unsure of what we should and shouldn’t take? We take Vitamin B1, Omega 3 fish oil, Lactobacilli and some other stuff.

Thinking of getting Acai berry, Bee Pollen, Flaxseed oil and some other stuff – is there anything that’s a must for good health? What about "CoQ10"? Does Flaxseed oil and Omega 3 fish oil do the same thing?

We usually order from vitacost but recently came across "Swansons" (haven’t ordered from them yet though) We’re in Ireland so need a company which ships worldwide. Thanks.

If you have a healthy diet then vitamins and supplements are completely unneeded and are just excreted by the body.

Spend the money on healthy food rather than pills with dubious if any benefits.

I absolutely love vitacost. As far as supplements, you mentioned coQ10, which is excellent. It is good for increasing energy levels, cardiovascular health, like the heart and blood pressure. It is also good for memory. As far as brands, i recommend "Jarrow" it is not a cheap supplement to take, but most doctors would agree that it is a good supplement to take. Vitamin D3 is also recommended. "As far as fish oil and flax seed oil is concerned, flax seed oil is cheaper than fish oil and if you are a vegetarian then this may suit you better. The human body needs linoleic acid and alpha linoleic acid to function properly. Flaxseed oil has alpha linoleic acid which is the parent compound from which the other omega 3 fatty acids are derived. this leaves it to your body to do the conversion to the other forms it needs, eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid(DHA). the problem is that the conversion is not always that efficient, and the body often uses the ALA for extra energy, leaving less for conversion to other types, fish oil on the other hand contains the other forms and delivers them directly to your body with no conversion necessary. whatever form you decide to take, nutritionists recommend to back it up with an extra 400 IU of vitamin E(as mixed tocopherols) to prevent the fatty acids from breaking down too rapidly in your body." The brands that i recommend are Carlsons E Gems and A.C. Grace Company. These are all at vitacost, but most discount mailorder companies that sell supplements will have them.

I also love to take spirulina, which has GLA and a very high iron content.vitacost has it.( I like the hawaiian variety and the brand "Nutrex") Camu-camu berry which is from the tropical rainforest has a whopping 30x the vitamin c content of an orange and has the highest vitamin c content on the planet known to man.(www.rain-tree.com)
