What does this mean "take as a dietary supplement"?
Im taking acai berry pills and says to
"take one pill after lunch and dinner as a dietary supplement."
what does "take as a dietary supplement" mean? does it mean to substitute food for the pill? or take the pill with the food?
also..its the acai berry that Oprah was talking about, so i figured its legit.

"Dietary supplements" is a fancy way of saying that taking something may or may not help you in a particular style of dieting. I’ve seen it on herbal teas that are supposed to aid with digestion, too.

It "supplements" your diet. It’s supposed to have something that your ordinary foods do not.
By the way, most such pills are scams. Even if the berry itself is good for you, the pills are not. They’re generally fillers, or at best, the health benefits are severely reduced by the processing.
Either eat the berries, or some other fresh fruit. The pills are a waste of money. The whole point is the extra anti-oxidant, which regular fruits have. While you can’t get too many such things, you generally get all you need in your regular diet.
