is beer the worst of my weight problems? I hardly eat…?
I used to weight 110 (I’m 5’4) when I met my bf last year, I’ve ballooned up to 140! I don’t have money for a gym membership but I do walk and jog at least a couple miles everyday. I only eat once a day, usually around 500-700 calories, but since I started drinking beer I think is when my weight went way up! I tried to start drinking vodka and diet coke instead, but I don’t like the drunk and hangovers I get from it.
My bf wants me to loose weight, he tells me I need to and encourages me and applauds me for only eating once a day. He doesn’t know I struggled with anorexia and bulimia since I was 12. Right before I met him I was in recovery and still haven’t told him. I’m afraid I will fall back in.

If you are really set on losing weight, cut out your alcohol content altogether.
This means no spirits at all, no beer, no hard liquor, and no soda. All of it is empty calories and sugar that is going to metabolize into fat.

There are a lot of calories in alcoholic drinks and beer, for example, contains about 120 calories per 10 ounces or 285 ml but some boozers don’t seem to gain any weight at all whereas other drinkers who drink in moderation do gain weight. Sounds like you might need to reduce your beer consumption.
Perhaps you should increase your calorie intake to 1,200 calories per day and reduce your beer intake. Less than 1,200 calories per day is generally regarded as very unhealthy.

You aren’t eating enough. Your body is in a starvation mode and anything taken in is being stored as fat. Eat more food and give your body the proper nutrition. Aim for 1500 – 2000 calories a day.

You need to eat at least 1000 calories a day. If you are only taking in 500-700, then you are putting your body in starvation mode, and that slows your metabolism.
How much beer are you drinking? A bottle of beer can have as little as about 50 calories, but it can also have more than 200 depending on the type. If you’re drinking enough of them, they definitely can be the source of your weight issue.
Spirits also have calories, so again, you need to see how much you’re drinking.

LAY OFF of the Alcohol!!! That’s like the worst thing you can do. It will slow down your metabolism and also since you are only eating one meal a day…your body is in "Starve Mode" which means any time you eat something, your body will store it as fat because it thinks it’s starving!! Eat little meals or nutritous snacks throughout the day. Drink a glass of milk in the morning. The key to losing weight is to keep your metabolism burning through the day. You can eat all day long, it just really depends on what you eat. I’m not saying pig out, get your veggies in plus, they really fill you up. Stay hydrated with plenty of water also.
