Is acai berry juice safe to drink after the expiration date?

I found this box of acai blend bottles that expired a year ago. I tried it already and it just tastes strong. Is it safe to drink and effective? I’m not concerned about the taste, I want to know if its safe to drink for the antioxidants. Thanks.
Its Mona Vie and it expired 2/09.

NO. When in doubt, throw it out.

No, it’s best to throw out foods that have passed expiration — that goes for cosmetics, pills, or anything that you plan to put on or in your body.

As far as the effectiveness of acai juice, it’s true that acai juice does have natural antioxidants (like most fruits), but those juices are usually packed with other hidden ingredients like sugar, for one. To get the most out of acai It’s probably a better idea to skip acai juice and try a different form of acai.
