"the acai berry and colon cleanse diet?"
    Ahahaha! No…
Those are two fad diets I haven’t heard from in a few months. I thought people stopped talking about them because they finally realized it was all BS. Popular diets never work. Popular diets always try to give you a "secret" food or an "easy" workout. They tell you you can avoid hard work, which is the only thing that will get you thin.

    To lose fat:
    1. DON’T BELIEVE THOSE FAD DIETS! DIET PILLS ARE GIMMICKS! Yes, Acai berries/pills/juice is a fad diet.
    2. DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF! Unless you are tiny as it is, a 1,200 calorie a day diet is DANGEROUS and won’t work in the long run.
    3. Find the ammount of calories you need to eat per day to maintain your weight. Try this link: http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/CalRequire.html
    4. Eat healthy and eat about 500 calories below that number. Eating too little will result in loss of water weight and muscle mass, not fat (what you actually want to lose).
    5. Eat 5-6 small meals a day. This keeps your metabolism up. Each meal should include fruits, veggies, water, and protein. Oatmeal is great for breakfast.
    5. Drink at least 64oz (8 8oz glasses) of water a day. No soda (that includes diet soda). A great FAQ for proper diet (and general fitness): http://www.liamrosen.com/fitness.html
    6. Do light/moderate cardio 3 to 5 times a week for 30 to 45 minutes each time. Running, bicycling, and swimming are great for this. If you are obese, do low impact stuff like walking or swimming.
    7. Do some strength training to make sure you lose fat and not muscle. Don’t worry; you won’t look like the hulk if you lift weights.
    8. You should lose about 1-2lbs (.45-.9kg) per week. If you lose more than that, chances are the rest is stool, water weight, or even muscle mass.
Be patient and be smart. If you follow this guideline you will be very happy with your results. Good luck!

Don’t bother with those fad diets/supplements. The only way you can lose weight and keep trim is to eat healthy foods and exercise, both cardio and weights. I recommend "the Abs diet for women".

A colon cleanse can help your body rid itself of toxins that have built up in the intestines. If you’re not eating enough fiber, which is cleansing, then your system will get backed up. Things can get clogged/stuck to the lining of your colon. You can then experience constipation, and even if you overcome the constipation, you may still have a residue of stuff stuck on the walls of the colon, causing a toxic buildup. So the colon cleanse is comprised of a combination of ingredients that will help to rid the colon of the toxic buildup. It is very effective. Some people can even lose a few pounds after going on a colon cleanse.

Acai is such a scam, listen to my words.

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at http://theweightlossplace .com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn’t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I’ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

Below is the story of one Yahoo Answers user who lost weight with Acai Berries –

Before I started my diet in late February I weighed 243. Now I weigh 190, what calorie/fat do you recomend? I’ve been taking the Acai Berry Formula, and I’ve lost 53 lbs. in 8-9 weeks. Now I’ve hit a plateau and I just seem to have stopped losing for 2 weeks.
