Getting married in a month and…?

I wanted to lose weight (what bride doesn’t?) but things haven’t quite gone as planned. I wouldn’t consider myself terribly overweight but I do have some extra baggage I could do without. I’m 5’4" and about 160 pounds.

I’m down to crunch time and really want to know realistically what I can do. I don’t have any ridiculous expectations like losing 25 pounds (my original goal) or something. But is 10 pounds attainable? What do I need to do? What goals should I set for myself?

By the way, I do NOT want to buy anything, take any strange supplement or go on some ridiculous crash diet. I want to do this correctly and healthily. I’m looking for diet and workout tips.

PLEASE do not post any useless links about acai berry or Hydroxy Cut or anything along those lines.

If you just cut down on sweets and switch to a healthier diet, that should do it!! Not only will you look better and be healthier, but you will feel better as well. Obviously, you want to cut out as much junk food, high calorie food, and fast food as possible. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Eating negative calorie foods such as celery is good too because you’re eating but you’re actually burning more calories by eating then you are taking in!! Also drink a lot of water. It’s good for you and it will help cleanse your body and fight away hunger. Sometimes you may think you’re hungry, but you’re really just thirsty and a few sips of water will make you feel better. =) Also, maybe just subscribe to a gym for a couple of weeks. Most gyms will give you a trial week or two, so maybe try that and just run on a treadmill for a couple of hours. Or you could just run around the neighborhood. Or even biking burns a lot of calories. Good luck and congratulations on getting married!!!

Try eating more salads and less starches and sugars. Also, most of the time when we’re hungry, we;re thirsty and don’t know it. Try drinking more water. And try to work out every day. The big thing is don’t burn yourself out. You’ll probably be busy getting ready for the weeding. It’s better to work out 1/2 hour a day, then go crazy and then drop it half way. :)

First, telling the spammers not to post their junk, is a waste of your typing time. They don’t read the questions, they just post and move on.

Next, same answer as the literally hundreds of "how do i lose weight" questions that have been asked and answered here since the site’s inception:

    Eat right
    Exercise

That’s it…make a lifestyle change and stick to it. You can lose up to 3 lbs/wk in a healthy manner, by just making those changes.

    Good luck!

Cut out useless carbs and increase you body’s natural metabolism. Stop drinking soda, fruit juices, and alcohol…go for water (crystal light has great flavor packs to make it taste better). Water will help you naturally process foods and get rid of excess waste built up in your system.

Reduce your carb and starch intake…go for whole grain breads instead of mashed potatoes, white bread, or pasta. Snack on fruit and raw veggies.

Make sure you DO NOT skip meals. Breakfast jumpstarts your body in the morning…make sure to include dairy…eat an egg within 1/2 half of waking…have a yogurt. Eat 6 small meals throughout the day…comsuming a large meal at the end of every day is not a great practice.

    Congratulations on your wedding!
