there is not much in the way of medical study to support the claims made by those who sell it.

it’s just the newest fad weight loss supplement.

I heard about it from another lady on here and heres a site. I’m going to try it after I’m done a flush…

    http://allsite.info/free-diet-pills

But I’m just going to be going to a health food store she told me not to take any hoodia that is mixed with green tea. Its not good for you to mix the both I think she said. Something like that, anyhow!

my wife used it and got pretty sick and very tired. she has since switched to herbalife and has lost 4o pounds in five months and she feels great and looks great. she uses http://www.myhealthabc.com, she gets the advice for free through there and buys all she needs, it actually saves us money on the groceries too.
She had the myhealth recommended by a friend who lost over a 100 pounds!! we did look up herbalife before starting after the state she was in after using hoodia. the company is long established and has some of the worlds leading doctors in the diet world working there, we looked the up seperately.

No, the evidence does not support its use as a weight loss agent.
The trouble with supplements is that they are not properly regulated and can cause more harm than good.
Here’s a quote from the FDA website regarding a hoodia priduct:
"Furthermore, your product is not generally recognized as safe and effective for the above referenced condition (obesity) and therefore, the product is also a “new drug” under section 201(p) of
the Act [21 U.S.C. § 321(p)]. New drugs may not be legally marketed in the U.S. without prior approval from FDA as described in section 505(a) of the Act [21 U.S.C. § 355(a)].

FDA approves a new drug on the basis of scientific data submitted by a drug sponsor to demonstrate that the drug is safe and efective. FDA is aware that Internet distributors may not know that the products they offer are regulated as drugs or that these drugs are not in compliance with the law. Many of these products may be legally marketed as dietary supplements if claims about diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention are removed from the promotional materials and the products otherwise comply with all applicable provisions of the Act and FDA regulations."

If you really want to throw some money at your weight problem, buy a treadmill. It’s documented that regular cardiovascular exercise thrree times a week will help you lose weight. But why buy a treadmill? Go for a two mile walk every morning- you’ll burn off lipids early in the day and jumpstart your metabolism. It’s free. And you can ramp up to more within a few weeks.
    Good luck!

Based on my research of hoodia gordonii and writing about it for over a year now, I believe it can play a role in an overall weight loss program but that role is very limited.

Most dieters make the mistake of believing that hoodia weight loss supplements will magically melt the fat away. Despite the marketing hype and all the bogus advertising claims, hoodia gordonii does not work like that. If only weight loss was as simple as popping a few diet pills!

If hoodia gordonii diet pills are effective, they only do one thing – suppress appetite. They don’t burn fat. They also don’t correct a bad diet, prevent overeating, or increase metabolism. So if you have a healthy diet and exercise regularly, but find that you are hungry all the time (and your hunger drives you to overeat), then hoodia weight loss supplements can play an effective role.

As you can see, it’s role is rather limited. If you decide that hoodia weight loss pills are right for you, just be sure you get those that contain 100% authentic hoodia gordonii. Many of the diet pills today contain other ingredients than just hoodia gordonii. Those "other" ingredients may or may not be beneficial and they may not be safe.

    Is hoodia safe?
To date, hoodia gordonii is safe and there are no known side effects other than some reported cases of people getting upset stomach. There are a couple exceptions regarding the safety of hoodia and those are people with diabetes and pregnant and nursing women.

Bottom line: Hoodia weight loss supplements can play a small role as part of an overall weight loss program but keep its role in perspective. Furthermore, authentic hoodia gordonii diet pills are relatively safe so you can try them if you feel the need without worrying about any serious side effects.

I’ve provided a couple links below if you’d like more information. The first link is to a website that provides detailed information on hoodia and weight loss. The second link goes to the same website but it provides information on the safety of hoodia diet pills.

    Best of luck to you.

Forget pills, life just isn’t that simple!

For appetite simply restrict carbohydrates, an exerpt from a previous answer of mine:

"The best way to reduce your appetite whilst still maintaining a calorie deficit is by reducing your carbohydrates and eating some fat.

Carbohydrates are the worst for stimulating hunger, especially highly refined carbohydrates.

This was one of the biggest selling points of the Atkins diet. By lowering carbohydrates significantly people on his diet were often having to constantly remind themselves just to eat their 3 meals per day.

I highly reccomend reading this article, The Truth About Saturated Fats http://www.apinchofhealth.com/resources/lowcarb/truth-saturated-fats.html
