Are these acai berry ads driving anyone else nuts?

I’m a frequent Internet user and I have never seen an ad campaign as comprehensive and omnipresent as these "I lost 25 pounds of stomach fat by following this simple golden rule", "as seen on Oprah and Rachael Ray", etc. At least half the sites I visit (mostly news sites) have these ads on them. Every time I ask a question on Yahoo Answers in the Diet and Fitness section, regardless of the topic, at least two people send me links to the same "mariasdietblog" sites. Now I’m starting to get spam e-mails (I rarely get spam anymore) pitching the same stupid fad diet.

Acai berries are no healthier than cheaper, more common fruit. The "one simple rule" claim is an outright lie…click on the link and it will advertise a colon cleansing, the aforementioned berries, and a subscription to some website offering diet advice.

Is anyone else sick to death of these stupid ads, and with ridiculous fad diet ads in general??

P.S. I’m going to be really amused if my mention of "acai berry" and "weight loss" sparks another few bots sending me ads disguised as friendly answers to this question.
Boozy – Don’t bother writing them. Someone else can confirm, but I think they may be posted by programs, not people.

Jen – These companies are not under FDA jurisdiction, so as long as their product isn’t poisonous, they can sell you flavored water and call it "Magical Weight Loss Potion".

I hate them too. They drive me insane because there are just so many of them. The worst are the ads that have before and after photos and the photo is only from the neck down? Are we really supposed to believe that it’s the same person? Also, some of them make ridiculous claims, like you can lose 60 lbs in one month.

That is the only thing I report, I also tell them what I think of them. Trying to get free advertising, and forcing me to read commercials, unacceptable. I wish I could blow up their trailers.

I found a website with a devastating expose of these ads. Ever notice how some of these women in the acai berry ads have different names but look exactly alike? Turns out there’s a reason for that – the woman in the picture is a model for a stock photo company, and her pictures have been Photoshopped by these lying acai berry pushers.
