There is no need for fancy products to clean out your system.
if you listen closely to the commercials they always say "Some experts will tell you……"
why do only some experts say that. that’s because many experts do not say that.
when a person gets a colonoscopy, the doctor puts a camera in a persons butt and takes a look around. in order to prepare for this procedure, you have to do a "colonoscopy prep." basically a person drinks something or takes pills and then they spend a day on the toilet. you can buy these products at any Walgreens for much cheaper than any of these commercials will tell you.
So go to Walgreens and check out the section with enemas and laxatives. there should be something there that you can drink that will clear you out. don’t buy anything from the commercials.
in the end you might lose 5-10 pounds, but you will gain it back once you eat again, so make sure you aren’t expecting a miracle weight loss plan. healthy diet and exercise is all you need. talk to a real doctor before doing anything crazy.

Not sure about the acai berry thing, but you can change your diet in order to clean your colon.

It really doesn’t work, it’s a waste of money. The only thing that has been able to help me was alli pills…and even then it’s mostly me doing the work. LOL, but it really does help cut out some of the fat that you’re eating. I did a test between Acai and Alli and Alli won hands down.

A couple of weeks ago I saw a report online that said it’s a scam. All products don’t work equally on all people. Consult your doctor before starting ANY kind of weight-loss regimen.

I believe so. Two of my closest friends are on this specific diet. They have been on it for 2 months already and they definitely lost a lot of weight, and they look skinny and healthy. I asked them before if there were any side effects. They said no. The primary of the Acai and Colon diet is to vacuum your system of previous foods that were stuck in your body and replace it with antioxidants. Antioxidants eliminate free radical and promote a cleaner colon. Once your colon is clean with acai antioxidants, this effect triggers your liver to function at superior levels, which also triggers your metabolism to burn fast and effectively.

Yes, it does work sometimes. But it is important to remember that colon cleanse is not for young people, it can be bad for your body. Also acai berry pills are more of a diet supplement so you can’t just take it and expect to lose weight even if you eat pizza and donuts everyday, you have to eat healthy and is even more effective if you excercise.

what a coincidence i just read that article yesterday. dont listen to that crap. TO get rid of belly fat u must exercise and cleanse ur system.
in this case its not what u do to the outside, but what ur putting on the inside of you, which effects everything about ur body.
cleansing ur body is taking all the toxins that built up over the years.
it is like what that berry and colon stuff is.
eat no sweets.
buy a juicer, and drink carrot juice from that everyday. organic carrots!
less eggs and milk.
no chocolate (srry!)
herbs, ones that kill bacteria. (http://www.aptekaslonik.pl/prod_info.php?c=&products_id=826) thats a tea that can help.
hope i helped a little. these are jsut some of the things i can think of.

Commercial "colon cleanse" products mainly irritate the intestines to cause increased frequency of bowel movements, etc. Some of them contain herbs to help soothe the irritated tissues… some contain things like bentonite clay to "absorb toxins"… some contain probiotics… yadda yadda.
The truth of the matter is that the best way to "cleanse your colon" is with a CONSISTENT, healthy, vegetable-rich diet. It may take some treatment to optimize your digestion, and that may include a variety of treatments to heal the gut… but that’s not about "cleansing."
Can "toxins" have an impact on weight management and general health? Absolutely! Generally this refers to fat-soluble toxins, which arent really liberated or eliminated when you do a "colon cleanse." To address toxins of this sort, a specific detox protocol put together by a qualified health professional is in order. (Such a program could include things like specific herbs, saunas/hydrotherapy, niacin, etc.)
The liver is our main organ for breaking down toxins for elimination. The processes by which the liver works can be supported (this must be done properly, in a way that balances the many functions of the liver to avoid creating more problems than you fix.)
As for Acai berry… it’s rich in proanthrocyanidins, an awesome anti-oxidant. But I’ve read the "research" (there’s very little; mostly just a lot of testimonials by people whose credentials cannot be verified.) The truth is that BLUEBERRIES (and other dark-colored berries) are just as high, if not higher, in the many anti-oxidants and nutrients found in Acai berry (and mangosteen, for the record.) Blueberries are much less expensive, plus they’re locally grown and therefore more ecologically sound. Eat them whole, put them in your salads, make fruit shakes with them… eat the whole berry and you’ll also benefit from the fiber and overall nutrition
Moral of the story? Optimize your digestion (with the help of a qualified ND or your MD), and then eat well, drink enough water, get enough fiber and exercize. THAT is your best bet for the average joe’s (or joan’s) detoxification.
